ST. GABRIEL, LA (WAFB) -

Officials said a 17-year-old girl who had not been seen by family members since Monday is apparently safe.

The St. Gabriel Police Department reported Krissy Gordon contacted her mother and told she was safe. Officers added the teenager said she would return home Thursday, but did not let her mother know where she was.

Family members said she had last been seen leaving her friend's house in the Prairieville area with an unidentified person.

Gordon reportedly left the Carville Job Corp in St. Gabriel on Friday "under false pretenses" and did not return on Monday as expected.
