BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Metro Council got an update Wednesday on the use of body cameras in the Baton Rouge Police Department.
"I'm real excited about the 100 cameras that we have. Moving forward, I'd like to have the entire Baton Rouge City Police officers with those cameras so we're looking for additional funding of course to do that. The cameras are not so much the cost, it is the storage," said Rep. C. Denise Marcelle, D-Baton Rouge.
The report on the body camera said so far the reaction from both officers and the public are positive.
However, the task force said there are still some details to be worked out, including a switch to a new camera provider starting next month.
