NEW IBERIA, LA (WAFB) - State Fire Marshal and Iberia Parish Sheriff's investigators are investigating the circumstances of a residential fire where a woman's body was found Monday evening.

Firefighters were called to the house in the 7300 block of Joe Viator Rd. around 5 p.m. Monday. They found the single-wide manufactured home engulfed in flames.

When the fire was out, firefighters found the body of 45-year-old Amber L. Callahan.

Callahan's boyfriend Eugene Haley, 53, who also lived in the home, was slightly injured as he attempted to go back into the home while it was on fire.

Investigators have determined where the fire originated and continue to piece together the cause. Detectives processed the scene and say various items of evidence were collected.

An autopsy, which will definitively determine the cause of Callahan's death, will be conducted Wednesday morning. This investigation remains active.
