Man pleads no contest to child porn charges, sentenced to 12 years

AMITE, LA (WAFB) -

A judge sentenced a man to 12 years behind bars after he pleaded no contest to child porn charges.

District Attorney Scott Perrilloux with the 21st Judicial District said William Knight, 28, of Hammond, pleaded no contest to 14 counts of pornography involving juveniles and computer-aided solicitation of a minor. Judge Elizabeth Wolfe handed down the sentence.

Perrilloux said a warrant was issued on Jan. 15, 2015 for Knight’s arrest on charges of pornography involving juveniles. He added investigators found photos and videos of girls younger than 13 on Knight’s computer.

He also said Knight is not eligible for parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

According to Perrilloux, an investigation began in August 2013 and Knight was arrested in April 2014 on charges of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Investigators said Knight admitted to chatting with girls around 14 years old and asking them to send him nude photos.
