BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police said a man suspected of beating his mother's boyfriend with a pipe is facing an attempted murder charge.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Freddie Robinson, 26, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. Bond has not been set.
According to the arrest warrant, Robinson's mother has been living with the victim for the past month.
The report stated Robinson showed up at the man's home, questioned him about a woman he had been seeing and hit him in the head with a metal pipe four or five times.
It added the victim ran out the door to escape and was later taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center for treatment. His condition is unknown.
It also stated Robinson's mother told investigators her son hit the victim with a pipe.
