Police search for man accused of making unauthorized purchases on company credit card

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man suspected of using a company credit card to make unauthorized purchases.

The Gonzales Police Department reported William Miller, 35, of Denham Springs, is wanted on theft related charges.
Investigators said Miller used to work for Robert Distributors and was issued a credit card to purchase work related items. They added he allegedly made a purchase at Home Depot on Nov. 10, 2015 that was not authorized by his supervisor.

According to investigators, he was positively identified as the person seen on surveillance video at Home Depot at Gonzales. They added GPS on the company truck also put him at Home Depot.

Police said Miller crashed a company truck shortly after leaving the Home Depot and the materials he bought were not inside. They added the company suspended Miller while waiting to get a drug screen.

Authorities reported while under suspension, Miller allegedly made more purchases on the card. He is suspected of spending more than $1,000 between Baton Rouge and Denham Springs.

Officials said the Denham Springs Police Department is also trying to find Miller and has issued felony warrants on him. They added he has been arrested multiple times on narcotics and theft charges dating back to 1998.
