BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Salvation Army is extending its shelter hours in preparation for freezing temperatures expected to hit the WAFB viewing area.
The Salvation Army shelter at 7361 Airline Highway in Baton Rouge will have extended hours beginning Friday.
The shelter doors opened at 4 p.m. with residents allowed to stay overnight until 10 a.m.
"Currently, we have accommodations for 100 men in our overnight Airline facilities, and we will open additional rooms so that no one is turned away into freezing conditions," said Captain Brett Meredith.
Freezing temperatures are expected through Saturday night across the Baton Rouge area.
