LSP arrests 2 from Georgia, 1 from Texas in I-10 drug bust

WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

According to Troopers with the Louisiana State Police, three men were arrested after a traffic stop turned into a drug bust.

The traffic stop happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning on I-10 in West Baton Rouge Parish.

During the traffic stop, Troopers became suspicious of criminal activity and called a LSP K-9 who alerted Troopers to contraband. During the search of the vehicle, Troopers found 80 pints of Promethazine Syrup, 367 MDMA tablets and 1 gram of cocaine.

Wayne Gardner, 47, of Georgia was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, possession with intent to distribute Promethazine Syrup and MDMA, and possession of cocaine.

Cortney Jones, 35, of Galveston, TX was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Promethazine Syrup and MDMA, and possession of cocaine.

Alvin Demar, 38, of Georgia, was as arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Promethazine Syrup and MDMA, and possession of cocaine.

All three suspects were arrested and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
