BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man, who is accused of trying to rape three different women, pleaded guilty to attempted rape charges.
James Fort Jr., 33, pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted simple rape Tuesday.
The judge gave Fort 10 years for each count which will run concurrently.
Fort was arrested and charged with attempted rape and theft in August 2014 after attacking a woman on North 17th Street.
Police said the man pulled the victim to the ground and ripped her pants after she said no to having sex with him for money, but she was able to get away and call for help. The woman also reported the suspect stole money from her purse and then ran away.
Authorities said Fort was arrested a short distance away on Laurel Street based on the suspect's clothing description given by the victim.
