WASHINGTON, DC (WAFB) - Violent crime is on the rise across the country, according to a preliminary report from the FBI.
The data is from the first six months of 2015, compared to the same period in 2014.
Those figures, which were just released Tuesday, show a nearly 2 percent increase in the number of violent crimes reported by local law enforcement.
The increases were in crimes including murder, rape, aggravated assault and robbery.
Burglary and arson crimes did drop, though.
