BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department says they have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old on Birch Street Saturday night.
Police say 17-year-old Ahmad Antoine turned himself in to police at the BRPD First Precinct Saturday night.
The shooting happened at 5 p.m. in the 1900 block of Birch St.
When police arrived at the scene, they found 17-year-old Devin Anderson on the front porch of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, Antoine told them that he was playing with a loaded shotgun when it fired hitting Anderson. He insists that he and Anderson were not involved in any type of altercation and that the shooting was an accident.
Antoine was taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he has been booked with negligent homicide.
