Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest of accused drug dealers

ST. AMANT, LA (WAFB) -

A Crime Stoppers tip led Ascension Parish narcotics detectives to a man wanted on felony drug charges.

Detectives went to a home on Oak Lane in St. Amant Monday, Jan. 11 and found 24-year-old JoMichael Taylor. Taylor was inside the residence and detectives found marijuana, a shotgun, Promethazine, Xanax and Naproxen.

He was charged with distribution of a legend drug without a prescription, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV CDS, two counts drug paraphernalia, two counts illegal carrying of weapons, resisting an officer, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession of schedule IV CDS, and possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS. His bond was set at $175,000 and he is still incarcerated at this time.

Detectives also arrested 20-year-old Jeremy Saltzman who was present when detectives executed the search warrant on the Oak Lane residence. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and illegal carrying of weapons. He was released after posting a $30,000 bond set by Judge Verdigets.
