Louisiana-based film looks at long lasting impact of Deepwater Horizon disaster

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Friday night, the Manship Theater presented a movie premier that highligted the effects of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

After the Spill, shines a light on ongoing problems facing the gulf coast in the aftermath of the 2010 environmental disaster.

The movie features people familiar to the Baton Rouge area, like Lt. General Russell Honore and John Berry.

The filmmakers behind the project hope the movie creates a national dialogue about how the state's coastal crisis could become a national catastrophe if left unchecked.
