BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office authorities arrested two teenagers after finding a sawed off-shotgun during a traffic stop.
An EBRSO sheriff's deputy says they pulled over 17-year-old Derrique Serf and 17-year-old Antonio Scott after failing to stop at a red light at the corner of Gus Young Avenue and North 46th street. During the stop, deputies noticed a sawed-off shotgun in plain view on the rear passenger seat of the vehicle.
Upon checking with the National Crime Information Center's database, Serf was found to have a BRPD warrant for 24 counts of burglary and theft of a firearm.
Upon further investigation, the sheriff's deputy found two handguns - one of which was stolen, a bottle of Hydrocodone, and a digital scale in the vehicle.
Serf was arrested and booked on possession of a firearm with drugs, possession of schedule 3 drugs, and unregistered firearm dealing sawed off shotgun charges. He remains behind bars under a $23,000 bond.
Scott was arrested and booked on illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm with drugs, possession of schedule 3 drugs, and fugitive from justice charges. His bond is set at $20,000.
