BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Capitol Area Corporate Recycling Council will celebrate Mardi Gras by giving discounts on recycled computers.
From January 11 through February 8, computers from CACRC will be discounted by 10%. Paradegoers can bring in Mardi Gras beads and get an additional $5 off of a laptop, which start at $75, and desktops, which start at $100.
The council also encourages citizens to recycle their old computer and get a newer one to take home.
All of the recycled equipment will be refurbished and discounted for low-income families, veterans, senior citizens or given to schools and community centers by the CACRC or made available for sale to the general public.
All other materials that cannot be refurbished will be recycled appropriately through Responsible Recycling standards and all hard drives will be erased to the top national standard.
The CACRC store can be found at 1400 Main Street in Baton Rouge.
