Southeastern issues ban on hoverboards due to safety risk

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Hoverboards are no longer allowed at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.

The university issued a policy Thursday that said students living on campus will not be able to store or use the self-balancing scooters.

Firefighters worry they could catch on fire.

LSU also recently banned hoverboards from its Baton Rouge campus.
