ST. AMANT, LA (WAFB) - A 38-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after Ascension Parish Sheriff's Detectives say he made inappropriate sexual advances towards a juvenile.
Troy Johnson, of St. Amant, was arrested after the mother of the juvenile victim notified deputies that their child was inappropriately touched by the suspect.
The mother of the victim also told APSO detectives that Johnson asked the victim if they wanted to have sex with him on several occasions.
Investigators found that Johnson is a Tier II sex offender, stemming from six arrests on charges of forcible rape, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, and domestic abuse battery. Those charges date back to March 1997, with Johnson registering as a sex offender upon his release from prison in August 2006.
Johnson was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on January 5. No bond has yet been set.
