BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - In November, LSU head football coach Les Miles nearly lost his job and athletic director Joe Alleva appeared to be the main driving force behind the near firing.
As we know, Miles has survived for at least one more season in Baton Rouge and things appear to be going his way. The Tigers have the No. 1 recruiting class according to several national services and have also landed Dave Aranda to be their new defensive coordinator.
Aranda comes to LSU from the Wisconsin Badgers, where his defenses were nationally ranked and prominent.
Tuesday morning Aranda was formally introduced at a press conference on the LSU campus, with Miles and Alleva appearing to be in very high spirits. The two exchanged friendly conversation and their fair share of laughs.
Miles heaped high praise on Alleva afterwards, telling the media LSU wouldn't have landed Aranda without the athletic director's hard work. The coach added that his relationship with Alleva has always been good and productive. However for those attending the press conference and observing, it's safe to say the relationship has never been THIS GOOD.
