Possible social media feud leads to shooting in Plaquemine

PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are looking for a suspect in a Saturday afternoon shooting in Plaquemine that injured one person.

Iberville Police Chief Kenny Payne says the shooting happened about 3:30 on Court Street near Livingston Street. Chief Payne says the victim, 22-year-old Deontrel Street, was grazed on the left shoulder, and was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect, 25-year-old Evan Franklin, is still at large. When he is brought into custody, he will be charged with attempted second degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Chief Payne believes a spat on social media began Friday, eventually leading up to Saturday's shooting.
