BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The man who died after falling from an elevated portion of I-10 East near the Washington Street exit has been identified.
A spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department says 31-year-old Dillon Dawson died after he fell at about 7:30 on Wednesday night.
Witnesses say that Dawson allegedly fled the scene of a vehicle accident he was involved in, crossed over a guardrail, and was attempting to lower himself when he fell.
The Baton Rouge Coroner tells 9News that the cause of death appears to be from an accidental fall. Toxicology results are pending and could take up to three weeks for the results to come in.
This incident is still under investigation.
