BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating a Sunday morning fire on Monroe Avenue.
Officials say the fire started just after 7 a.m. in the 2800 block of Monroe Ave.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found one of the bedrooms in the home engulfed in flames.
The fire spread to the kitchen before firefighters were able to get the fire under control.
There were six people inside the home at the time of the fire. Everyone managed to escape the home unharmed.
Red Cross was called in to assist the residents of the home.
