BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man was arrested, charged with allegedly robbing multiple people at gunpoint in a casino parking lot.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office says that 19-year-old Ari Thompson was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery.

The robberies took place in the parking lot of the L'Auberge Casino. EBRSO authorities interviewed one victim who said he was approached by the suspect as he was nearing his car when another vehicle pulled up next to him.

According to the victim, the suspect got out of the car, holding what appeared to be a dark colored, semi-automatic pistol, and demanded that the victim hand over his phone.

EBRSO authorities then interviewed the second victim, who said the suspect ran up to them as they were near their car and demanded money and the victim's phone.

Authorities say they were able to track one of the stolen phones to the 1300 block of Brightside Drive in Baton Rouge.

Thompson was located at the residence and arrested by authorities. A search of the car Thompson was driving turned up both victims' phones, as well as a BB pistol made to look like a live handgun.

Thompson admitted to authorities during an interview that he robbed both victims.

Thompson is currently behind bars, and no bond was set.
