Three men were arrested in connection with recent burglaries at residences in St. Martin and Iberia Parish.

On Friday, December 18, David Lee Jr., 18, Kenneth Broussard, 19, and Colby Francois, 20, were arrested after an investigation recovered a large amount of stolen property taken in the burglaries.

In a release by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, the suspects led authorities on a chase through the town of Loreauville, ending on C Street. The suspects were arrested shortly thereafter.

The St. Martin Sheriff's Office says Francois was charged with four counts of simple burglary, one count of theft of a firearm, one count of criminal damage to property, and one count of cruelty to animals.

A St. Martin Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says Francois got the cruelty to animals charge after allegedly killing a dog in one of the burglarized homes.
