Police look for two men accused of conning, robbing a woman

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police are looking for two men who robbed a woman after telling her an elaborate story to gain her confidence.

"He said he was here and needed some place to stay because his brother got killed in the BP oil spill," the woman said. "They had a good story, I'm telling you the perfect story."

The woman said the men approached her at the Walgreens at the corner of Airline Highway and Old Hammond. She said one of the men told her he was a pastor of a local church and asked for a ride. The men ended up tricking the woman into driving to various places before stealing her purse from her car with her money in it.

"They jerked my purse, took my money and they got out and left my doors open and when they left my doors open I had to get out and close my doors and by the time I did that they were gone," she said. "I don't want this to happen to anybody else because the next time they may not leave with their life. My life was spared and I think God that."

Anyone who can help police locate the two men is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
