BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A fire broke out Friday morning at the Exxon Mobil plant in North Baton Rouge.
A spokesman with the company says that fire was at the refinery only and it was contained to just one unit.
No one was hurt in the incident, but drivers could see the fire from miles away.
Neighbors right next to the plant said they heard a loud boom.
"It woke me up about 4 o'clock this morning. I heard a loud noise like a bump and I got up to see. Just thought something had happened in the house, but I didn't ever pay any attention about it after I looked around," said one resident near the plant.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
