BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A local group plans to try and make some good come out of the murder of a 14-year-old teen.

"A lot has hit home in the last couple of months. A lot have hit home with the crime, with the murders, the accidental shootings, and it's really hit home because its people that I know personally. So you know this is something that I have never dealt with in my life," Rashard Rusk, the organizer of the event.

A group of people will march from the River Center to the State Capitol Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

The march is in honor of 14-year-old Desmond Bryant. Police arrested 20-year-old Carson Thomas Monday night and charged him with Bryant's murder.
