BRPD 'Reads for the Holidays' at local schools

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police Department Police Chief Carl Dabadie visited St. Luke's Episcopal School in Baton Rouge Tuesday morning to share some Christmas joy and cheer with the kids.

St. Luke's Episcopal School was the second school the chief visited this week as a part of "BRPD Reads for the Holidays."

Dabadie says that being able to reach out to the community around the holidays is rewarding in more ways than one.

"It's an awesome experience and you can see the excitement in their faces and it's just good for everybody," says Dabadie.

"To see a police officer in uniform and of course to have the chief of police here today, that's really exciting," says Amy Whitley, Head of School. "So they were thrilled to know that he was going to come and spend some time with us today."

Dabadie will be visiting more schools around Baton Rouge this week.
