BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A major project planned for Pecue Lane and I-10 could hit a roadblock.
Some of the the phases of the "Green Light" plan have already been completed, but transportation leaders held two meetings Tuesday shared an update on the next phase.
Jonathan Charbonnet, the project manager, said once it is built, it would help ease some of the traffic in the area.
However, the project is running out of time to come up with $36 million to help fund construction.
A key study for the plan will expire in a year and a half. If funds are not in place by then, it is back to square one.
"We're talking about a $50 to 55 million project. We've identified a portion of those funds but additional funds need to identified to build it," said Charbonnet.
If funding is found and everything moves forward, construction could start in 2017.
