14-year-old in critical condition after N. 17th St. shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people injured Friday night. 

Police say the shooting happened just after 10 p.m. in the 1800 block of North 17th Street. 

According to police, someone opened fire on a vehicle hitting two people. Officers met up with the victims in the 3400 block of Choctaw Drive shortly after the shooting. 

One of the passengers, a 14-year-old male, suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and head. He is listed in critical condition at a local hospital. 

The driver, a 20-year-old male, suffered minor injuries in the shooting. 

Police have no motive or suspects at this time. 

The shooting remains under investigation.
