BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Albertsons donated turkeys to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank Friday morning as part of their "Touchdowns for Turkeys".
The grocery store agreed to donate turkeys based on how many points the LSU Tigers scored this football season.
The Tigers scored a total of 338 points this season so Albertsons agreed to donated 340 turkeys.
The food bank says that will help fill a lot of bellies this year.
"It's a huge difference," says Robert Kanas of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. "There's never enough food, especially proteins, center of the plate, holiday time, it's going to put a smile on a lot of people's faces."
The turkeys will soon be handed out over the 11-parish area.
