BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Drivers with the Capital Area Transit System will be receiving pay raises in 2016.
In a new two year contract agreed upon by CATS and the Amalgamated Transit Union, employees will see increased wages, changes in overtime rules and a standardized paid time off schedule.
Starting wages for drivers will increase from $13.25 an hour to $15 an hour. Pay for trainees will now start at $14.
According to CEO Bob Mirabito, the move should not inflate the agency's payroll by more than five percent over the next two years.
