BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two new turning lanes to get to I-10 from Essen Lane will open Thursday morning. Officials with the City-Parish and DOTD collaborated on the project to help relieve some of the traffic congestion in the area.
The interchange improvement project, overseen by the City-Parish through the Green Light Plan, runs along Essen Ln. from just south of United Plaza Blvd. to the Ward's Creek Bridge. DOTD will continue to oversee their widening project along this route, which will widen approximately one mile of Essen Lane to six lanes.
A ribbon cutting to commemorate the opening of the new lanes will happen at 10 a.m..
