Metro council unanimously approves Kip Holden's $880 million budget for 2016

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Metro Council quickly and unanimously approved the 2016 budget proposed by Mayor Kip Holden on Tuesday.

The 2016 budget includes a $10 million increase from the 2015 budget in the capital projects fund. It also include funding upgrades to several public safety agencies.

The budget goes into effect on Jan. 1.
