Legislators set to vote on last piece of Jindal's plan to fill budget gap

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Gov. Bobby Jindal is asking lawmakers to use a special fund to close a mid-year budget gap to help save cuts to higher education.

Two-thirds of legislators from both chambers must agree to use more than $28 million from the budget stabilization fund.

Their votes are due Wednesday at 5 p.m.

It is the last piece of Jindal's plan to close a nearly $500 million mid-year gap.
