BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The second degree murder trial of Izzamon Jackson was expected to begin Monday morning, but because of the judge's schedule, it has been continued until a later date.

Court documents show that jury selection was set to begin at 10 a.m. in Judge Trudy White's courtroom. The new trial date has not been released.

Police say Jackson shot and killed Ty Porter in the Scotlandville area in August 2012. Porter was found dead in a parking lot. He had been shot multiple times.

Jackson was 17 at the time of his arrest in 2012.
