BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of two people discovered Sunday afternoon.
EFPSO authorities say there is foul play suspected, and the case is being treated as a possible homicide. Investigators say the victims, a man and a woman, were found a few miles east of Clinton on La-10.
No other details about the victims or the manner of death were released.
"We haven't had a murder here in a couple of years so anytime you hear about a homicide in East Feliciana or West Feliciana parish, our jurisdiction, it's just heart sinking," said East Feliciana Parish District Attorney Sam D'Aquilla.
The EFPSO is leading the investigation with help from Clinton Police and the State Crime Lab. D'Aquilla says right now they are trying to establish exactly what unfolded and when.
"We're going to determine the cause of the problem is and we're going to make a determination and prosecute the individuals responsible for this crime," said D'Aquilla.
