BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Santa Claus took a break from his workshop today to visit with some local kids.
Santa made a stop at the annual gingerbread tea hosted by Baton Rouge General's Volunteer Auxiliary.
Besides the tea and hot chocolate, kids got to make their own gingerbread men, and enjoyed lots of other fun activities like balloon animals.
But organizers say there's really only one thing that lights up these faces.
"It's great to see all the kids, says Symil LeDoux, manager of Baton Rouge General's Volunteer Services. "They're really excited when they come here, and then they're extremely excited when Santa Claus makes his way in, so that's always a special moment to see the kids' faces when Santa walks through the door."
The gingerbread tea is a fundraiser for the Baton Rouge general.
The money raised goes to programs and services that benefit patients and their families.
