BRFD battles two-alarm fire at apartment on Coursey Boulevard

Firefighters put out two-alarm fire at Baton Rouge apartment

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A two-alarm fire caused more than $100,000 in damage to an apartment complex in Baton Rouge on Sunday.

The fire happened in the 12500 block of Coursey Boulevard in the Sherwood Acres Apartment complex.

Baton Rouge Fire Department investigators are still searching for a cause to the fire, but foul play is not suspected.

First responders arrived to scene to find fire coming from an upstairs apartment, firefighters were able to get the fire under control about 30 minutes after the first unit arrived. No injuries were reported.

Only one unit sustained fire damage, but three others sustained water damage during this event, according to BRFD officials.
