BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Brett McMurphy of ESPN, along with The Houston Chronicle and other sources report the LSU Tigers will square off against Texas Tech in The AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl.
The game will be played December 29 in Houston, Texas and is scheduled for an 8 pm kickoff.
The Tigers are 8-3 overall, having recently ended a three game losing streak with a 19-7 win over Texas A&M. Head coach Les Miles nearly lost his job, coming under heavy fire for the program's recent slide.
Texas Tech has hardly enjoyed a prestigious season themselves, standing 7-5 overall and not defeating a ranked opponent all season.
Red Raiders' head coach Kliff Kingsbury recently parted ways with three defensive assistant coaches, as Texas Tech allowed 42.6 points per game and 271.8 yards per game rushing. Those are the kind of numbers that may have LSU sophomore running back Leonard Fournette drooling.
Fournette broke the school's single season rushing record this year, gaining 1,741 yards on the ground and 18 touchdowns.
