YOUR TURN: Convicted sex offender pleads guilty to lesser charge for sex crimes against 12-year-old

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Michele LeJeune. LeJeune and many others reacted harshly to the story about a convicted sex offender in East Baton Rouge Parish who was allowed to plead guilty to lesser charges. Ivy Martin was accused of sex trafficking and raping a 12 year-old girl.

In LeJeune's words:

This happens every day with this kind of trash. That is why he is able to be convicted once again. I know an offender convicted twice and he never saw a day in jail. The innocence of a child is murdered, but the legal system treats this scum as though they have a speeding ticket. Sick. I will be a vigilante if it happens to my family. I'll take my chances going to prison to be his judge, jury and executioner. The laws are not made to protect innocent children.

That's Michele LeJeune's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to
