Man arrested, accused of saying he wanted to 'shoot up' Baton Rouge hospital

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baker Man was arrested for allegedly threatening to "shoot up" a Baton Rouge emergency room.

Gregory Franklin, 41, was arrested after East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Officers say he made a phone call at about 8 a.m. on August 18 to the Our Lady of the Lake emergency room, angrily shouting profanities.

Investigators say Franklin said he had an MRI done in August, and needed his medical records and more pain medication. When a worker at the hospital told Franklin that she was not the one he needed to call for his needs, he allegedly got angry and threatened to "shoot up the f****** ER".

EBRSO officials say Franklin then hung up, but called back a short time later, screaming over the phone, threatening physical violence to the worker.

Authorities were able to find out who the suspect was based on information he gave to OLOL staff, eventually tracking down and arresting him.

Franklin now faces a felony terrorizing charge.
