THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - Thibodaux Police say a man is behind bars after he was caught allegedly rummaging through a victim's vehicle.
A police report says Michael Braud, 48, was arrested Friday morning on November 27. Officers received reports of a suspect stealing from a victim's purse inside her car in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
Police say that upon arrival, they saw Braud allegedly flee the scene on foot. Authorities were eventually able to catch up to Braud and detain him.
Through an investigation, officers were able to find money stolen from the complainant's purse, as well as a pack of stolen ribeye steaks stolen from the Wal-Mart on Braud's person.
Braud was arrested on simple burglary and theft of goods charges, and is in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $3,300 bond.
