BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

After several days of rumors that LSU head coach Les Miles would be fired, athletic director Joe Alleva addressed the topic for the first time before Miles' post-game news conference after the Tigers' win over Texas A&M.

"Les Miles is our football coach and he will continue to be our football coach," Alleva said.

In his post-game news conference, Miles said he was told he's still the head coach after the game and that at the time, the players might not have known still.

When asked by media how he found out, Miles joked that it was by telegraph.

"F. King Alexander said, 'I want you to be our coach. You are our coach.' Joe Alleva followed that up there after. 'We want you to be our coach.' I said 'magnificent,'" Miles said.

Before word was announced that Miles would remain LSU's head coach, the Tigers carried him off the field following their 19-7 comeback win over the Aggies
