LSU faces Marquette in the Legends Classic

BROOKLYN, NY (WAFB) - LSU will face Marquette Monday night in the first semifinal contest of the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Golden Eagles are 1-2 this season, losing to Belmont, 83-80, and Iowa, 89-61, and beating IUPUI, 75-71 in overtime.

Henry Ellenson, Duane Wilson and Luke Fischer lead the team in scoring. Ellenson is averaging 14.0 points per game, Wilson 13.3 ppg and Fischer is chipping in 12.3 ppg. Ellenson is also averaging nine rebounds a game.

Antonio Blakeney leads the Tigers (3-0) in scoring with at 19.3 average. Ben Simmons is averaging 18.7 points per game and just under 13 rebounds per game.

Simmons was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday. He averaged 22.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and three steals in wins over Kennesaw State and South Alabama.

Tipoff for Monday's contest is set for 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
