Car hits fire hydrant, spraying water causes problems for drivers

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Drivers are dealing with an unusual situation after a car hit a fire hydrant Friday morning.

The St. George Fire Department reported it happened on Summa Avenue, which is right behind Copeland’s.

Eldon Ledoux with the St. George Fire Department said no one was injured in the crash, but lots of water is spraying from the damaged hydrant.

He added deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office are directing traffic in the area.
