BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Tanya Businelle. Businelle and many others reacted on our Facebook page this week about the idea of installing seat belts on public school buses in East Baton Rouge Parish schools.
Businelle and many others were opposed to the idea. In her words:
The number of buses that transport the number of kids that they do daily versus the number of deaths yearly seems to show that the buses are safe, about as safe as they can be, much safer than transporting by car. How safe is it going to be for the kids when the driver has to try to keep them all buckled in while driving? How safe is it for your child when you have wild kids aboard who use it as a weapon to bust your child's face open? There's absolutely zero proof that seat belts make the children safer on an already safe form of transportation.
That's Tanya Businelle's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to email@example.com.
