Two men were arrested after police found nearly $18,000 in ecstasy and other drugs during a traffic stop in Thibodaux.

Ryan Reech, 18, of Port Allen, was arrested alongside 21-year-old Florida resident Dustin Mantia. On Wednesday, November 11, Reech and Mantia were pulled over for a stop sign violation. The officer conducting the stop decided to get a K9 unit to sniff around the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, police recovered cash, Hydrocodone, Vyvanse, an assortment of Amphetamines, Ecstasy, marijuana, a safe, and Smarties candies believed to be laced with LSD that will be tested at the State Police Crime lab.

Reech and Mantia were arrested and released on bond a few days later.

A follow-up investigation showed the safe contained about 900 Ecstasy pills, connected to Mantia.

Mantia was arrested again on November 17, and was released nearly an hour later after posting a $52,500 bond.
