BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - On Tuesday, senior citizens gathered at Central Baptist Church to share one a meal together at the Thanksgiving Harvest.
The Baton Rouge Police Department and volunteer teens from the Young Leaders Academy served the classic Thanksgiving's meal.
"We're hosting for our seniors, an opportunity for them to interact with law enforcement and our people, to interact with them. It's a give and take to work with seniors in our community," said BRPD Police Chief Carl Dabadie.
The chief said this was really the first year that BRPD has tried a Thanksgiving meet and greet. It was all intended to open channels of communication with good food.
