LSU falls 31-14 to Arkansas in the 'Battle for the Golden Boot'

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

No. 9 LSU fell to Arkansas 31-14 in Tiger Stadium on Saturday in the "Battle for the Golden Boot."

The Tigers drop to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the SEC.

The Razorbacks jumped on the Tigers quickly and never trailed in the game. Arkansas was up 21-0 before LSU scored its first points.

Running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown on 19 attempts. He also caught three passes for 36 yards.

Quarterback Brandon Harris was 21-of-35 passing for 271 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Wide receiver Malachi Dupre caught eight passes for 109 yards. He hauled in the touchdown pass from Harris late in the first half.

LSU's defense gave up 440 yards to Arkansas, including 299 yards on the ground.

Arkansas also won the game last year.
