SCOTLANDVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department say a gun was found at Scotlandville High School Friday afternoon.
Police received a call saying 18-year-old Jarreau Simmons forced his mom at gunpoint to drive him to the high school because he was upset about his dismissal from the band.
Responding officers took Simmons into custody after a short foot pursuit and recovered the handgun in the band room.
Simmons will be placed in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with 2nd degree kidnapping, carrying a firearm by student on school property, terrorizing and illegal carrying of a weapon.
The investigation is ongoing.
